I actually found all of the feedback I received helpful. While I knew the things that people were sharing with me, what I realized is that I wasn't practicing the things that I knew to do. I have been giving 60 second elevator pitches weekly for the last 7 years. I realized that because the pitch I did the first time was for a business I don't actually own and run, my heart wasn't in it. I attempted to make sure this time to do the things I have practiced many times for years.
Hi Alan. I like how you used an opener that really engages the audience and puts them in a mindset to be more receptive to your pitch. Your tone demonstrated your excitement for the coffee shop and would likely get the audience excited as well. The hand gestures you used were appropriately timed and well placed. One recommendation I do have is to talk about some of the fan favorites of the coffee you offer.
Hi Alan, I think this time around your pitch was better. You really engaged the audience from the very start and I was very happy to see the enthusiasm in this pitch. I think a big thing were the hand gestures which really proves to be well during a pitch. Great job and I love the idea of the coffee shop!
You can tell that you have been doing this for years. It all came natural and comfortable to you. Your speech wasn't monotone and your hand movements were very engaging. And the shirt is a great choice to appeal to the school/audience.
